The year 2013 saw the return to Fattoria Resta of two very important people. The first, the Madonna di Resta, depicted along with St. Joseph and two angels in a painting by fifteenth-century Sienese painter Sano di Pietro, had been stolen in 1952 only to resurface on the antiques market in 2007. In August of 2012 the painting was returned to its rightful owner, the charitable institution in Siena that used to own Fattoria Resta, and in May 2013 a full-sized photographic copy of the painting was donated to the chapel at Resta in a little ceremony (in which I played the flute).

And the second important person who came back to Resta in 2013 after an absence of some years was... my Dad!
